  • Investigations - East San Pedro Bay Ecosystem Restoration, CA

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The study area is located offshore of the City of Long Beach, California in the easternmost part of San Pedro Bay. It includes the area between the Long Beach shoreline and the offshore Middle and Long Beach Breakwaters. The purpose of the study is to evaluate opportunities for providing ecosystem restoration by restoring and improving aquatic ecosystem structure and function for increased habitat diversity and ecosystem value, increased recreational opportunities and other improvements offshore within the proposed project area of East San Pedro Bay.

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The project is located approximately 25 miles south of Downtown Los Angeles in San Pedro Bay. Two of the world’s largest ports are located within this harbor - Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach. Port of Los Angeles (POLA) is ranked the busiest container port in the US and number 17 in the world.
  • Investigations - Port of Long Beach Navigation Improvements, CA

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The Port of Long Beach, the second busiest US seaport, is in Southern California, approximately 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Navigation improvements to the Port are required for safety in maneuvering and to accommodate the current container vessel and liquid bulk fleet.

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The project encompasses Murrieta Creek in Riverside, California. Murrieta Creek is a significant tributary to the Santa Margarita River. The project is multi-purpose flood control, environmental restoration, and recreation project along 7.5 miles of Murrieta Creek.

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The project encompasses Murrieta Creek in Riverside, California. Murrieta Creek is a significant tributary to the Santa Margarita River. The project is multi-purpose flood control, environmental restoration, and recreation project along 7.5 miles of Murrieta Creek.

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The project (aka Perris II Desalter) consists of the design and construction of a 3 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) desalination plant.

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The Santa Ana River Basin (SARB) Project, as operated and maintained by the Corps includes 16 miles of channels and levees and 5 flood risk management dams. Project features are located in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, California.

    LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION: The Whittier Narrows Dam project is a flood control project with incidental water conservation. This project is the central element of the Los Angeles County Drainage Area (LACDA) flood control system.
