    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released the Draft Integrated Feasibility Report for the Aliso Creek Mainstem Ecosystem Restoration Study for review and comment, and gives notice of a public meeting to be held Oct. 17 in Laguna Hills.
  • Army Corps to begin San Luis Rey River sediment removal

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a contract on Aug. 11 to Steelhead Constructors, Inc., of Palo Cedro, California, to remove 210,000 cubic yards of sediment from the San Luis Rey River as part of the federal flood control project along the river.

  • Corps makes draft determination Prado Dam mural not eligible for listing on National Register

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District notified Ms. Julianne Polanco, the State Historic Preservation Officer, of the California Office of Historic Preservation by letter on June 6, 2017, that it has made a draft determination that the Bicentennial-themed mural on the Prado Dam spillway in Riverside County, California, does not meet the criteria for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The Corps reached this conclusion after evaluating input received from consulting parties.

    The annual Oceanside Harbor maintenance dredging project is nearing completion, as Manson Construction Company reports about 311,000 cubic yards of sand has been dredged from the harbor’s entrance channel, according to a May 27 survey.
  • Oceanside Harbor dredging meets goal, will continue

    Manson Construction Company reports having dredged about 293,000 cubic yards of sand from the Oceanside Harbor entrance channel, as of May 25. The base contract calls for the removal of 280,000 cubic yards.
