The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District will release the draft Mojave River Dam Master Plan revision on Jan. 27. The public is invited to view the information found at the following website: https://www.spl.usace.army.mil/Missions/Operations-Division/Mojave-River-Dam/.

The website contains documents describing the revision process, a copy of the draft master plan report, maps of the proposed land-use classifications and instructions for submitting comments to the Corps. The public involvement process will be conducted online, in lieu of a face-to-face meeting. Members of the public are encouraged to submit written comments and suggestions by Feb. 27.

The Corps defines a master plan as the strategic land-use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all recreational, natural and cultural resources throughout the life of a water resource development project. Master plans are vital tools produced and used by the Corps to guide the responsible stewardship of Corps-administered lands and resources for the benefit of present and future generations. Public participation is critical to the successful revision of master plans.
