Army Corps Extends Public Comment Period On Los Angeles River Pilot Boating Program

Published July 1, 2011
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, in response to a request from the public, has extended the comment period for a test "Non-Motorized Boating Program" on the Los Angeles River within Sepulveda Basin.

The Public Notice originally released June 17 has been modified to reflect this change and is available at http://bit.ly/jSYpcY.

The Corps is considering granting a license that would allow the Los Angeles Conservation Corps to provide guided tours of the River during the dry season.

The Corps is currently preparing an Environmental Assessment to evaluate potential impacts to human health and the environment from the requested action and alternatives.

All comments must be received by 12 p.m., July 8. The Corps will consider and respond to comments from the public as part of the evaluation process.
