USACE to re-open bidding process for Nogales bridge project

Published July 23, 2012

NOGALES, Ariz. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District is preparing to re-open the bidding and Source Selection process to choose a contractor to complete construction of a bridge for the Chula Vista subdivision.

Advertisement for the project will be sent out in August 2012 and the bidding process will open in September 2012.

The District put the contract out for bid March 14; however, John Drake, the District’s project manager, said the current solicitation was cancelled July 13 because the solicitation did not bring any proposals that where within an awardable amount.  Therefore, there will be a new solicitation.

The bridge will re-connect Old Tucson Hwy and will provide residents, businesses and first responders a better route into and through the neighborhood. The bridge across the Chula Vista channel will put the finishing touch on the District’s flood-risk management project in the area.
