    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District is pleased to announce several studies and projects throughout Southern California and Arizona that will receive funding under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, or IIJA.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District will make lower-than-normal releases from Alamo Dam to facilitate contract divers as they begin repair work on the sill of the outlet works July 23.
  • Position 5 And 6: Nogales Wash Emergency Flood Fight

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to undertake flood fights at two locations hereby termed Position 5 and Position 6.
  • LA District awards contract for Nogales Bridge

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District has awarded a contract Sept. 20 for $3,989,708.37 to West Point Contractors, Inc. to construct a replacement bridge over Nogales Wash. The project will begin construction in October and is expected to be complete in June 2014.
  • Navajo County and Army Corps of Engineers preparing award-winning study to serve Winslow-area residents

    The team at Navajo County Public Works, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, has been designated as the USACE South Pacific Division’s Planning Team of the Year for the work being done on the Feasibility Study for flood risk management in the Winslow, Ariz. area. The team is also in the running for the South Pacific Division’s “Outstanding Planning Achievement Award for FY 2012.”
  • Tres Rios project earns Corps award for environmental design

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District will present the Chief of Engineers Award of Excellence for Environmental Design to the City of Phoenix and representatives from the District’s Arizona-Nevada Area Office, Archer-Western Contractors, Ltd., and Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., for work done at the Tres Rios Environmental Restoration Project, Phase II Flow Regulating and Overbank Wetlands, during a ceremony Nov. 1 at 9:30 a.m. in the Mayor's office, 11th Floor at Phoenix City Hall. Media are invited to cover the event.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District is currently in the Source Selection process to choose a contractor to complete construction of a bridge for the Chula Vista subdivision in Nogales, Ariz.Bidding for the project will open Aug. 31.
