The General Reevaluation Study aimed to identify a modified recommended plan that would be economically justified and policy compliant. After conducting habitat surveys, developing alternatives, and evaluating the alternatives, the project delivery team did not identify any viable alternative to the authorized plan, which is economically justified based on recent economic updates. No changes to the authorized plan are recommended.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District (USACE), proposes to assist the City of Buckeye with its Central Water Reclamation Facility (facility) under the authority of Section 595 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1999, Public Law 106-53, as amended (Section 595), by cost-sharing engineering design and construction of repairs and upgrades to the facility (Proposed Action). The USACE posted a Public Notice of its intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for this project on December 19, 2024. The purpose of this notice is to notify the public that the USACE will longer be preparing an EA. The USACE intends to use a Categorical Exclusion for the Proposed Action in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended (42 United States Code (USC) 4321, et seq.), and the Department of Defense (DoD) NEPA Implementing Procedures published June 30, 2025.
