The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District (USACE), proposes to assist the City of Buckeye with its Central Water Reclamation Facility (facility) under the authority of Section 595 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1999, Public Law 106-53, as amended (Section 595), by cost-sharing engineering design and construction of repairs and upgrades to the facility (Proposed Action). The USACE posted a Public Notice of its intent to prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for this project on December 19, 2024. The purpose of this notice is to notify the public that the USACE will longer be preparing an EA. The USACE intends to use a Categorical Exclusion for the Proposed Action in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended (42 United States Code (USC) 4321, et seq.), and the Department of Defense (DoD) NEPA Implementing Procedures published June 30, 2025.

Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (42 United States Code [U.S.C.] 4321, et seq.) (NEPA) and Department of Defense NEPA Implementing Procedures (Jun. 30, 2025), the Los Angeles District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) for a proposal by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Parks and Recreation (Proponent) to expand the Discovery Cube Los Angeles within Hansen Dam Basin. The purpose of the EA is to evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with approving the Proponent's request to extend boundaries of the existing development onto adjacent subleased land.
