Generating Tribal Coordination Letters

  1. Download the latest version of the tool and tutorials from the Application Plus home page.
  2. Complete Tutorial 1 to familiarize yourself with the process for generating tribal coordination letters.
  3. Will your upcoming Corps application likely require section 106 consultation (e.g., disturbance to native soils)? If so, complete the NAHC contacts request form and submit it to nahc@nahc.ca.gov). Within a week or so the NAHC will provide you with a response letter containing tribal contacts that you will input into Application Plus.
  4. Once you have received the NAHC response letter, use Application Plus to generate tribal coordination letters. You may refer to Tutorial 1 for support or contact Eric Sweeney via phone at 760-602-4837 or via email at Eric.R.Sweeney@usace.army.mil with any questions you may have.
  5. After you have obtained your output documents, assemble the following three items for inclusion with your permit application package: 1) Application Plus output file “Tribal Coordination Letters.docx”, 2) Application Plus output file “Mailing Labels for Tribal Coordination Letters.docx”, NAHC’s response letter (obtained in step 3).
