Public Notices

A public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable impacts on the public interest. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.  

Public Notices published by the Los Angeles District are posted on these three pages. There are two types of Public Notices; Regulatory and Project Public Notices. Comments are due by the expiration date of the public notice. 

Only comments submitted by email or in hard copy format through a delivery service, such as the U.S. Postal Service, can be accepted.   Comments must be submitted to the address listed in the public notice.

SPL-2013-00694-RRS Maintenance Dredging, Naval Base Coronado

To perform maintenance dredging 23,536 total cubic yards at Piers J/K 4,818 cubic yards and Carrier Wharf L, M, N, O, P 18,718 cubic yards at Naval Base Coronado along Quay Rd. and Wright Avenue within/near the City of Coronado, San Diego County, CA. The project would return existing berthing areas within NBC to previous operational depths -50 ft. MLLW, plus 2 ft. overdepth to maintain safe and adequate berthing for Navy assets. Also in association with Maintenance Dredging Piers J&K and Carrier Wharf L/M/N/O/P, Naval Base Coronado approximately 2,562 cubic yards of dredged material deemed unsuitable by the Corps and EPA will be placed at a Corps-approved upland site with the remainder of suitable dredged material 20,884 cubic yards going to LA-5. Both the Corps and EPA have completed their dredged material suitability determination in 2013.
