Public Notices

A public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable impacts on the public interest. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.  

Public Notices published by the Los Angeles District are posted on these three pages. There are two types of Public Notices; Regulatory and Project Public Notices. Comments are due by the expiration date of the public notice. 

Only comments submitted by email or in hard copy format through a delivery service, such as the U.S. Postal Service, can be accepted.   Comments must be submitted to the address listed in the public notice.

SPL-2021-0210-NLH Channel Islands Breakwater & Jetty Repair SEA

The Corps has prepared the Draft SEA for the Channel Islands Harbor Breakwater and Jetty Repair project to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of additions of staircases, replacement of a navigation aid pad, and associated shoal excavation to the detached breakwater within the Channel Islands Harbor located in the city of Oxnard, Ventura County, California. The Corps, as part of its Operations and Maintenance Program, is proposing excavation of the shoaled material to facilitate the repairs to the breakwater, installation of three staircases, and replacement of the concrete pad supporting navigation aid on the detached breakwater. Construction is expected to take place from April 2021 through September 2021.
