Expiration date: 12/31/2024

The Los Angeles District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, hereby informs the public of the initiation of the process to develop a Master Plan for Pine Canyon and Mathews Canyon dams.

The public is invited to attend a public scoping meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6, 2023, at Caliente Elementary School, 289 Lincoln St., Caliente, Nevada. The meeting will give an overview of the master planning process, provide instructions on how to submit comments, and provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide feedback.

A Master Plan is a vital tool produced and used by the Corps to guide the responsible stewardship of Corps-administered lands and resources for the benefit of present and future generations.

Key topics to be addressed at the meeting, include land classifications; natural, cultural and recreational resource management objectives; and recreation facility needs. Public participation is critical to the successful development of the Master Plan.

A 30-day public comment period began Nov. 23, 2023, and will end Dec. 23, 2023. For those unable to attend the public scoping meeting, the materials will be available by request.
