LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:
The project area includes about 4.3 miles of flood risk reduction levee and improvements located along the Little Colorado River near Winslow, Arizona. Approx. 1,600 structures, including many of the city’s critical public facilities (hospitals, schools, nursing homes, utility infrastructure) are located within the 1% Annual Chase of Exceedance ACE, flood plan. The total population at risk is approx.5,000 from the 0.2% ACE event. Project will rebuild sections of Ruby Wash Diversion Levee and of Winslow Levee. The total length of new and reconstructed levees is approx. 22,570 feet.

Flood Control Act of 1937; HR 2425 dated 17 May 1994; WRDA 2017 Sec. 202(a)
ACTIVITIES FOR FY 2023: Funds will be used to conduct Pre-Construction, Engineering and Design phase.
