Investigations - Hansen Dam Water Conservation and Supply, CA

LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:
The study area is in the northeastern San Fernando Valley, approximately 15 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, California. This project would  enable the Corps to prepare a Feasibility Report that will complete required environmental documentation to update a feasibility report prepared in 1999    and address the federal interest in updating the water control manual to change operations at the Hansen Dam Reservoir to increase water conservation opportunities.

AUTHORIZATION: Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 1993 (PL 102-377) or Water Resources Development Act, 2016.

ACTIVITIES FOR FY 2023: None

FY 2024 PLANNED ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Optimal funds would allow a new study to be initiated.

ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION: Los Angeles District (SPL) Planning representatives have coordinated with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District to confirm interest and a Letter of Intent to pursue the study has been received.
