LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:
The project is located along a 75-mile reach of Santa Ana River in Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. The plan of improvement includes: Seven Oaks Dam (145,600 acre-feet), management of overflow area-Seven Oaks to Prado (35 mi); raise Mill Creek levee (2.4 mi); additional storage at Prado (140,600 acre-feet); improvements along: Oak Street Drain/Riverside County (3.6 mi) Santiago Creek/ Orange County (1.2 mi), and lower Santa Ana River (31 mi); recreation development; mitigation and preservation; and Sa Timoteo (5.4 mi).

ACTIVITIES FOR FY 2024: Complete construction of Norco Bluffs, River Road Dike and Alcoa Construction contracts. Complete turnover of all completed Prado Basin features to Orange, Riverside County. Continue fiscal closeout of SARM completed features. Complete Change Control Board briefing for Santiago Creek SARM feature.
FY 2025 PLANNED ACCOMPLISHMENTS Award construction option for Prado Spillway Integrated Design and Construction contract. Continue fiscal closeout of SARM completed features. Advance design for Santiago Creek SARM feature.
ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION: The designed level of flood risk benefits to areas downstream of Prado Dam will be realized after the Prado Basin & Reach 9 features are constructed. Remaining features to be completed in the Prado Basin include River Road Dike, Alcoa Dike Phase 2, Norco Bluffs toe protection, & the Prado dam spillway raise. HQs approved the cost increase and will fund $592.5M of the remaining cost under BBA18 funding. The PCA & LCA amendments have been signed. The remaining balance to compete includes the existing estimate for Santiago Creek implementation which is currently not included in the approved BBA18 funding estimate.
