LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:
The City of Norwalk, located in the southwest part of Los Angeles County, is primarily a residential community with a population of approximately 105,500. The proposed multi-year program would provide for the upgrading of the City’s water distribution, transmission mains and fire system, in order to provide increased system reliability, water quality and fire protection. The initial project would provide for approximately 12,875 feet of distribution pipeline replacement in the South Service Area.
AUTHORIZATION: WRDA 1992, Section 219 (c) amended by Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2001, Section 108(a) (28), WRDA 07 Section 5006 (16).
ACTIVITIES FOR FY 2023: Funds will be used to negotiate a Project Partnership Agreement (PPA).
FY 2024 PLANNED ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Planned Carryover funding will be used to complete all required environmental documents, a signed Project Partnership Agreement (PPA), and design and construction of Well No 9, and initiate Water Master Plan Update, Nordesta Imperial Groundwater Recovery Planning Study/Predesign and SCADA System installation.
