Work halts on Sepulveda Basin vegetation management plan
Debris from a Eucalyptus tree is shown in the foreground in the Sepulveda Basin Jan. 3. Only two other non-native trees were removed; a Palm, and a Pine, during work for a vegetation management project that began Dec. 10, 2012. The removal of bushes and brush could not have been done more selectively because of the degree to which the non-native vegetation had overtaken the native vegetation. The Corps did not bulldoze [clear cut] vegetation and root balls for native vegetation remain.
