The Kino Environmental Restoration Project covers 141 acres and includes constructed diversion channels, five vegetation-lined ponds, restored native vegetation and flood control structures. KERP is managed by the Kino Sports Complex and Pima County Stadium District that maintain the basin in partnership with the Pima County Regional Flood Control District and the Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department.
