The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, Regulatory Division has executed a Record of Decision (ROD) for the federal action associated with the Thousand Palms Flood Control Project located in Riverside County, California. In December 2022, the Corps completed a Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) for the project that evaluated the environmental consequences associated with issuing a Department of the Army permit to Coachella Valley Water District to construct flood control improvements to reduce exposure to flood hazards in the Thousand Palms community. The ROD documents the basis for the Corps’s permitting decision with respect to issuing a Department of the Army permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
