Public Notices

A public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable impacts on the public interest. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.  

Public Notices published by the Los Angeles District are posted on these three pages. There are two types of Public Notices; Regulatory and Project Public Notices. Comments are due by the expiration date of the public notice. 

Only comments submitted by email or in hard copy format through a delivery service, such as the U.S. Postal Service, can be accepted.   Comments must be submitted to the address listed in the public notice.

SPL-2014-0004-PD-RL Finding of Suitability to Transfer and

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District (Corps) on behalf of the National Guard Bureau (NGB) announces signing of a Finding of Suitability to Transfer (FOST) for a 60-acre parcel at Camp Navajo near Bellemont, Arizona.   

The NGB proposes to transfer the 60-acre parcel to the Arizona Department of Veterans Services for the construction of a veterans’ cemetery.  The FOST was prepared pursuant to Section 120(h) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. 

The draft document was made available for a 30-day review period from September 16, 2013 through October 16, 2013.  The NGB signed the final FOST on April 23, 2014.  The signed document is available for review from April 24, 2014 through May 24, 2014.
