LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:
Borrego Springs is located in San Diego County and is approximately 150 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Continuing Authorities Program (CAP) Section 205 project is requested in order to provide a feasibility study to determine an appropriate solution to the severe property damage suffered as a result of seasonal rain flooding in the Borrego Springs community.
AUTHORIZATION: WRDA 07, Section 1002(a) (7) - Public Law 110-114; CAP Section 205; project limit is $7M Fed.
ACTIVITIES FOR FY 2023: Funds from the local sponsor from a WIK conversion will be used to complete the baseline conditions, economics, and H&H analysis for the use of the local sponsor for a non-federal and non-structural flood warning system. The study will be closed out after that product is delivered to the sponsor.
FY 2024 PLANNED ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Funding will be used to prepare the final report and close-out. A federal project will not result from this study.
ISSUES AND OTHER INFORMATION: Pending additional funds from the non-federal partner, the study will complete a final report displaying analysis, followed by close-out.
