Material dredged from the annual Oceanside Harbor channel maintenance project lies adjacent to the Oceanside Pier. As the sun bleaches the sand, it takes on the appearance of material along the shoreline. Construction equipment then contours the sand to increase beach width and enhance protection from winter storms.
