Officers with the Azusa Police Department, along with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District Park Ranger Nick Figueroa and Trevor Snyder, program manager and homeless encampment liaison with the Corps’ LA District, look for homeless individuals living in the riverbeds near Santa Dam Aug. 19 in Azusa, California. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the LA County Sheriff’s Department’s Homeless Outreach Service’s Team, Azusa and Irwindale police departments; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District’s Operations Division; and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority collaborated on efforts to evacuate homeless individuals near the dam to safety prior to the impending tropical storm Hurricane Hilary.
