Dredged material enters the Surfside Beach through a pipe Dec. 7 near Seal Beach, California. Dredging began on Stage 13 of the Surfside-Sunset Beach Replenishment project in late November, adding 1.1 million cubic yards of sand onto the beach. The project will replenish beaches along the coast of Surfside-Sunset Colony, and Seal, Huntington and Newport beaches.
