USACE partners with state, county to develop state-of-the-art modeling to predict post-fire flood risks
Geotechnical Branch engineers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District advise Environmental Protection Agency representatives about relocating traffic barriers during a Feb. 10 technical assessment visit to the EPA’s wildfire debris removal transfer site near Topanga Canyon in Malibu, California. In addition to modeling predictions for debris flows for an impending rain event this week, hydraulic and geotechnical engineers physically assessed the site to advise EPA on measures to reduce potential risks from impending and future rainstorms.
