USACE partners with state, county to develop state-of-the-art modeling to predict post-fire flood risks
A geotechnical engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District assesses the northeast side of an Environmental Protection Agency wildfire debris removal transfer site Feb. 10 near Topanga Canyon in Malibu, California. In addition to modeling predictions for debris flows for an impending rain event this week, hydraulic and geotechnical engineers physically assessed the site to advise EPA on measures to reduce potential risks from impending and future rainstorms.
