Public Notices

A public notice is the primary method for advising all interested parties of a proposed activity for which a permit is sought. Soliciting comments and information necessary to evaluate the probable impacts on the public interest. Public notices are also published to inform the public about new or proposed regulations, policies, guidance or permit procedures.  

Public Notices published by the Los Angeles District are posted on these three pages. There are two types of Public Notices; Regulatory and Project Public Notices. Comments are due by the expiration date of the public notice. 

Only comments submitted by email or in hard copy format through a delivery service, such as the U.S. Postal Service, can be accepted.   Comments must be submitted to the address listed in the public notice.

Public Meeting Announcement: San Diego County Shoreline (Oceanside) Mitigation Study

The San Diego County Shoreline (Oceanside) Mitigation Study is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ effort to mitigate for shoreline erosion caused by the construction of Camp Pendleton Harbor. The study will result in a recommended plan to restore beach conditions along the affected area. The study team is currently developing three alternatives: 1) beach renourishment, 2) beach renourishment with groins, and 3) a no-project alternative. During two public meetings hosted in coordination with the City of Oceanside, the team will seek public input about the alternatives, their potential impacts and evaluation considerations.

The two public meetings will cover the same material and include:

  • Presentation from the study team (including introductions, study background, the planning process, current alternatives and next steps).
  • Facilitated public comment for questions and feedback.
  • Informal conversation and breakouts to collect feedback based on key themes and issues for alternative development and evaluation.
