U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Published Jan. 12, 2026
Expiration date: 2/12/2026

In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as amended (42 United States Code [U.S.C.] 4321, et seq), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District (USACE) has updated the Master Plan for the Alamo Dam and Reservoir (dam) located in west-central Arizona. The dam was authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1937 (Public Law 75-406, 28 August 1937, as amended). Master plans are intended to guide the use and development of USACE-owned lands, as well as identify and classify easement or other type of project lands held by the USACE for the purpose of flood risk management. A draft Environmental Assessment (EA) has also been developed for the dam to address potential impacts associated with the land use classifications developed through the master planning process.

A 30-day public comment period on the draft Master Plan and EA begins January 12, 2026  with comments solicited through February 13, 2026. Please email comments to AlamoDamSPL@usace.army.mil using the subject line Alamo Master Plan Draft.
