Fullerton Dam


Fullerton Dam and Reservoir is a multi-purpose structure along the Los Angeles River constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the 1940s. Its primary purpose is flood-risk management, but it also provides environmental, cultural and recreational resources for Orange County citizens and the nation as a whole. This 139-acre project area is in Orange County on Fullerton Creek.

Fullerton Dam Master Plan and Environmental Assessment Drafts

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District and Regional Planning and Environmental Center will be seeking public comments on the draft supplement to the 2011 Fullerton Dam Master Plan. This draft is a supplement to the 2011 Fullerton Dam Master Plan and proposes updated classifications to eight acres of federal lands within the Fullerton Dam Flood Control Basin. All members of the public will be encouraged to submit written comments and suggestions before Oct. 28, 2026.

During the upcoming comment period, a presentation outlining the changes, the map book showing proposed land classification and associated changes to previous land classifications, and the revised Master Plan and Environmental Assessment will linked in this space.
