LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $3.7 million contract to Manson Construction Company of Seattle, Washington, on March 13 for the Oceanside Harbor Maintenance Dredging project.
The Corps’ Los Angeles District will issue a notice to proceed by March 27, with an anticipated completion date of no later than May 26. The project’s local sponsor is the City of Oceanside.
The contract calls for the removal of about 280,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from the harbor’s entrance channel and its placement along Oceanside’s beaches.
Manson Construction has successfully dredged Oceanside Harbor in the past, and Corps officials anticipate no difficulties meeting the May 26 completion date.
