OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Manson Construction Company reports having dredged about 293,000 cubic yards of sand from the Oceanside Harbor entrance channel, as of May 25. The base contract calls for the removal of 280,000 cubic yards.

Because of the presence of additional accessible material in the channel, the availability of funding to continue dredging and anticipated sea conditions, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District has coordinated with the City of Oceanside, the project’s sponsor, and the appropriate permitting agencies to dredge beyond the initial project completion date of Memorial Day Weekend.

As a result, Manson will suspend dredging at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 27 and resume operations at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 30. This revision authorizes Manson to continue dredging until June 12, if necessary, to dredge up to 420,000 yards of material.
