    Oceanside Harbor navigational dredging underway

    Oceanside Harbor navigational dredging is an annual project conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District to maintain the federal channel within the harbor at its authorized depth and to provide safe navigation for the recreational, commercial and military vessels that use the channel.

The Redondo phase of the project is part of a Corps navigational dredging project to remove about one million cubic yards of sediment at Marina del Rey to restore navigational safety for mariners and first responders.

    The material placed at Redondo Beach is part of a Corps project to remove about one million cubic yards of material from the Marina del Rey entrance channel in order to deepen the channel to its federally-authorized depth and improve safety for mariners and first responders who use the marina.
