KINGMAN, Ariz. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District will host an open house to update the public on the former Kingman ground-to-ground gunnery range.
The meeting will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 4536 Patsy Dr., Kingman.
The range is a former World War II training site, located on about 75 acres parallel to Highway 66 in Kingman.
As the lead federal agency, the Corps manages environmental investigations and cleanup of Formerly Used Defense Sites.
An upcoming remedial investigation/feasibility study of the site will require access to properties and parcels within the MRS03 footprint.
The site includes about 284 residential properties and/or parcels located on Tommie Drive, E. Packard, Lass, E. Snavely, E. Thompson, E. Lum, E. Ryan, E. Hearne, E. Devlin, E. Shaeffer, E. John L and Northfield avenues.
