  • Corps awards $3.28 million contract for Santa Barbara County debris removal

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a $3.28 million contract to Silverstrand Construction of San Diego, California, Jan. 12, for emergency debris removal in Santa Barbara County flood basins to restore capacity and reduce the risk of flooding to homes and businesses.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District will remove debris in Santa Barbara County to support Federal Emergency Management Agency response operations following the California Wildfires. The Corps received a verbal mission assignment from FEMA Jan. 10.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a public meeting Oct. 25 to discuss a remedial investigation of the former Nellis Small Arms Range Annex, University of Nevada Las Vegas Study Area.     The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a contract on Aug. 11 to Steelhead Constructors, Inc., of Palo Cedro, California, to remove 210,000 cubic yards of sediment from the San Luis Rey River as part of the federal flood control project along the river.
