  • Corps projects continue during government shutdown

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District projects continue to operate temporarily despite the government shutdown.
  • LA District awards contract for Nogales Bridge

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District has awarded a contract Sept. 20 for $3,989,708.37 to West Point Contractors, Inc. to construct a replacement bridge over Nogales Wash. The project will begin construction in October and is expected to be complete in June 2014.
  • USACE finalizes draft L.A. River study report and initiates 45-day public comment period

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers finalized preparation of a draft report for the Los Angeles River Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study and posted the report to the Los Angeles District website Sept. 13. The report will appear in the Federal Register Sept. 20, which will trigger a 45-day public comment period that will help inform a final report and result in the Corps’ recommendation to Congress.
  • USACE poised to meet significant L.A. River study milestone

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is finalizing preparation of a draft report for the Los Angeles River Ecosystem Restoration study and anticipates releasing the report to the public in early September. The action will trigger a 45-day public comment period that will help inform a final report, which will include a recommendation to Congress.

  • Navajo County and Army Corps of Engineers preparing award-winning study to serve Winslow-area residents

    The team at Navajo County Public Works, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, has been designated as the USACE South Pacific Division’s Planning Team of the Year for the work being done on the Feasibility Study for flood risk management in the Winslow, Ariz. area. The team is also in the running for the South Pacific Division’s “Outstanding Planning Achievement Award for FY 2012.”
  • Interagency military pass waives day-use fees at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation sites nationwide

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced May 1 it will continue to accept the America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Pass Program’s Interagency Annual Pass for military members (Military Pass) at its more than 2,500 USACE-managed recreation areas nationwide.
  • President’s fiscal year 2014 budget for Corps’ civil works program released

    The President’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2014 includes more than $79 million in federal funds for studies, construction, and the operation and maintenance of civil works projects in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District.
  • Corps awards contract for Nogales bridge design

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a contract for approximately $476,000 on March 29 to redesign the Old Tucson Road bridge over Nogales Wash.
