  • Corps releases AngelFest draft Environmental Assessment

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District today released the draft Environmental Assessment on the City of Los Angeles' proposed AngelFest event, a three-day music and arts festival scheduled to be held in Sepulveda Basin in October 2016, for public review and comment.

  • Corps awards $440,000 contract for LA River maintenance

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a $440,000 contract to BJD Services of Santa Clarita, California, for strategic in-channel vegetation removal in the Los Angeles River to restore conveyance capacity in the highest priority area upstream of the Riverside Drive/Victory Boulevard bridge to an area downstream of Interstate 5 in Glendale.
  • Corps announces interim risk reduction measures on LA River

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District Commander Col. Kirk Gibbs joined Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and LA County Supervisor Hilda Solis Jan. 8 to announce that the Corps will begin interim risk reduction measures to improve flood protection on the Los Angeles River during El Niño. The District received emergency funding to begin work next week on an area of the river that spans from Griffith Park to Elysian Valley.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a $2.92 million contract to Engineering/Remediation Resources Group, a Tustin, California-based, woman-owned, small disadvantaged business, to provide range maintenance services at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, Sept. 26.
  • Corps awards Vandenberg bridge replacement contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a $23.92 million contract to Granite Construction Company, a Watsonville, California-based firm, to construct a replacement bridge over the Santa Ynez River at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, Sept. 24.
