  • USACE working to fix damage to border fence at California border

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District is working with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Yuma Sector to repair a 114-foot section of bollard-style border fence that fell over near the Andrade Port of Entry July 24.
  • USACE to re-open bidding process for Nogales bridge project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District is preparing to re-open the bidding and Source Selection process to choose a contractor to complete construction of a bridge for the Chula Vista subdivision in Nogales, Ariz.
  • Corps Issues Permit for Maintenance of Orange County Ocean Outlets

    Regulators from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District issued a federal permit to Orange County Parks July 11 for semi-annual and minor maintenance activities at the Poche Beach Ocean Outlet and the Capistrano Beach Ocean Outlet No. 1, located in and near the city of Dana Point, Orange County, Calif. The permit was issued pursuant to section 404 of the Clean Water Act and section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.
  • Corps begins Thorpe Road bridge construction

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District began construction of the Thorpe Road bridge over the Rio de Flag culvert June 11. The bridge, designed by the city, will ensure residents can transit North Thorpe Road and allow the wash beneath the bridge to safely convey water flows through the city.
  • Corps considers seasonal LA River non-motorized boating program

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District is considering issuing one or more licenses to governmental entities or qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations for access to and use of the Los Angeles River within Sepulveda Basin for guided non-motorized boating programs, to operate from early- to mid-June through Labor Day.
  • Corps awards Fort Irwin Replacement Hospital contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District awarded a $159.8 million contract May 9 to Turner Construction Company, of Washington D.C., for the construction of a replacement hospital at Fort Irwin, Calif.
  • Corps to discuss Santa Ana River Marsh dredging project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public meeting Monday, April 30, to provide information about the proposed Santa Ana River Marsh dredging project, located near the mouth of the Santa Ana River in Newport Beach.
  • Marina del Rey dredging begins

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin a $13 million dredging project today, removing up to one million cubic yards of accumulated sand from the entrance channel to Marina del Rey Harbor and improving navigational safety for area first responders and other boating traffic.
